CDO Covaresa presents nagi and turns its facility into the first smart swimming pool in Valladolid.

Valladolid, April 14, 2026 – The CDO Covaresa Municipal Sports Center hosted the official presentation of the nagi system, an innovative technology that marks a turning point in the digitalization, safety, and user experience of swimming pools. With this implementation, the center becomes the  The first smart swimming pool in Valladolid and in any capital city of Castile and León.

The event was attended by institutional and sports representatives, including Mayte Martínez, Councillor for Citizen Participation and Sports of the Valladolid City Council; Jaime Gutiérrez, General Manager of the CDO Fitness group; Pablo Gutiérrez, Director of CDO Covaresa; and José Miguel López, Director of Institutional Relations of nagi.

The implementation of nagi at CDO Covaresa represents a step forward in the commitment to innovation in public sports management. This initiative reinforces the CDO operator’s commitment to the continuous improvement of the service offered to users in Valladolid, within the framework of an administrative concession focused on excellence, safety, and the modernization of facilities.

In this regard, it is worth highlighting the trajectory of the CDO Covaresa center,  which has been working for more than 18 years for the development of sport and the well-being of the citizens of Valladolid, consolidating itself as a benchmark in sports management and in the incorporation of innovative solutions at the service of users.

Currently, nagi is already present in  more than 80 swimming pools in Spain, in addition to having started its international expansion with its first installations in Japan and outstanding growth in France, where its deployment has started with great momentum.

The nagi system allows for real-time monitoring of swimmers’ activity using smart devices integrated into their swimming goggles, providing data such as distance, time, pace, and rest periods. It also incorporates an advanced safety system capable of detecting hazardous situations in the water and automatically alerting lifeguards, reinforcing drowning prevention and improving peace of mind for both swimmers and professionals.

About nagi

nagi is a pool digitization system that monitors swimmers’ activity in real time, improving both safety and the user experience. The technology detects potential risks, such as drowning incidents, and immediately alerts lifeguards for a rapid response.

In addition, it displays the main activity metrics—such as distance, time, or pace—on a screen located within the facility, bringing performance analysis closer to all users.

With this, nagi contributes to the creation of intelligent aquatic environments, combining prevention, accessibility and improved sports performance in a more complete and safe experience.
