nagi technology is now operational at the Real Club Náutico de Vigo pool a new facility that incorporates the nagi system to enhance water safety while offering a more connected experience for swimmers, members, and students.
With this implementation, the Real Club Náutico de Vigo adds an extra layer of safety, keeping swimmers connected to the lifeguard team while they are in the water. Additionally, two screens installed at the pool allow for real-time monitoring of the aquatic activity.
Technology at the service of the rescuer
The goal of nagi is to use technology as an additional tool to support the professionals responsible for pool safety.
Using the nagiTag, the system locates the swimmer in the water and monitors their activity. In the event of a potentially abnormal situation involving prolonged submersion, nagi triggers an alert sent directly to the lifeguard including a vibration notification on their wristband helping them quickly direct their attention to the specific area.
As Jorge Montero, head of nagi in Spain, explains, the system keeps swimmers and lifeguards connected and alerts the professional when the device remains submerged for longer than the set time.
A new experience for the Naútico swimmers
Users can also check their activity while swimming thanks to screens installed in the pool, which display information such as meters swum, average pace, and session time. This data is recorded so it can be viewed later on a mobile phone.
In this way, a single infrastructure makes it possible to address two fundamental aspects of a modern swimming pool: enhancing safety and digitizing the swimming experience.
For the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, this combination also represents an improvement in the service offered to its members.

This facility also features a component that is particularly interesting to us: nagi will also serve schools in Vigo that use the Real Club Náutico’s facilities to teach their students how to swim.
Particularly in children’s swimming classes, where groups of young students share the aquatic environment, having tools that complement professional supervision takes on special importance.
The facility is also linked to the club’s vision for the “Vigo Sabe Nadar” project, aimed at the city and its schoolchildren.
